Job Description
Medtronic’s Plymouth, MN location is looking for a 1st Shift Equipment Maintenance Technician II that will be responsible to maintain the equipment associated with manufacturing silicon alloyed pyrolytic carbon components. A Day in the Life of this role is to support production in troubleshooting and maintaining equipment to ensure high levels of equipment uptime and to ensure general compliance within a regulated industry.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned
  • Performs a variety of duties within a CNC machine shop including working on electronic, mechanical, electromechanical types of equipment.
  • Ensures equipment is maintained to improve process efficiencies, yields, and to maintain business continuity.
  • Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
  • Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
  • Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent

    Background in CNC Machine equipment maintenance

    Background in Lean

    Change Management Experience

    Proficient in Microsoft Office

    Ability to function independently as well as part of a team

    Excellent written and oral communication skills

    Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast paced environment

    Team dynamic skills (communication, accountability, decision making, feedback, meeting management, conflict management)
  • Additional Requirements
    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Must pass a drug test, criminal background check and all required assessments
    • Basic computer skills
    • Good mechanical aptitude
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
    • 1st shift: 6:00am-2:30pm
